The projects created by the Portuguese students from MoM team – Garden Up by Roberto and José Carlos and Polygrowth by Ana Catarina and Ana Francisca – have inspired them to go further and submit their combined project work at Maker Faire Rome, happening this December.

“MoM-Matters of Matter: future materials in Science Education” a KA2 “only schools” Erasmus+ project, lasted 3 years from September 2014 to August 2017. It was an exciting and enriching experience for all. The exhibition was designed by MoM students during the previous school year and part of it was already on show at BergamoScienza 2016 (See post).

The vernissage took place during the EU mobility week in Pavullo  with a focus on materials for a sustaineable  society.

MoM pupils set up the exhibition and acted as guides for classes and general public during the weekends. As part of the dissemination  younger pupils in the third year were instructed as additional guides.

More than 32 classes (700 pupils ) from the neighbouring schools  attended the exhibition.  More people visited during the weekends.

In the lab a lot of experiments have been setup, which you normaly only can find at a university. For example their is an atomic force mircroscope and an optical tweezer. What’s more there are laboratory wokrplaces, which can be used for open work, for example for students competitions.

During the opening ceremony the Matters of Matters project was also presented.

The participating stuents of the Earsmus+-project have presented their results. Posters with photos of the mobilities have been shown in the auditorium

 The Portuguese team and the MoM Project have been singled out in the local press throughout the three years of the project.

The MoM team was represented by teachers Annamaria Lisotti, coordinator of MoM project and the Italian team, and Rui Baptista, coordinator of the Portuguese team. The project was awarded the Best STEM Teacher Award in the category of Joint Projects.
