MoM students invited to Rimini Makers Faire On 14th – 15th November 2015 the first edition of “Rimini Beach Mini Maker Faire” took place in Rimini. IIS Cavazzi/Sorbelli students have taken part in this faire, showing what they have done about smart lamps in the context of their school European project MOM, Erasmus+. “Change your light”, their stand, drew the attention of a large crowd: general public, attracted by light effects, the amazing colours of the lamps and by the lamp that switches on and off by clapping, but also experts in the field. College students, businessman and tech enthusiasts showed interest in the smart materials used in all the lamps, in the use of microcontrollers like Arduino and Galileo and most of all in the explanations given by the teenagers about how the materials and the microcontrollers work. They congratulated the students on their work and some also left them their business card offering (one day) to get in touch with the school and the project and explore possible partnerships and collaborations.
